When was your lightbulb moment?

I starting writing when my TV died. No really, it is true. It was then that I realized I no longer wanted to be told what to watch and digest. I knew had a story to tell. I knew (and had always known) that being active was far better than being passive. I wrote a page and then another. I didn’t know what I was doing. It was hubris to think I could write a novel, right? What right did I have to presume to produce a novel?

I wrote every day while commuting, first on my iPhone and then on a small laptop, using up that “down time” for something productive, drawing of the diversity of Toronto one encounters on public transit. Deep down, I knew I needed to process working in the investment world for over two decades. I needed to look it in the face and convey to others the risks associated with unrelenting greed that people take on when their moral compass is challenged.
