Branding & Web Designer for Women, Caitlin Lang

Tell us a little something about your business...

I design premium brands and websites for female entrepreneurs, helping them attract high-paying clients who value their expertise.

Many women come to me with websites they’re embarrassed to share. I love turning that around—helping them showcase their best selves with a gorgeous brand that truly represents them, both visually and in messaging.

My entrepreneurial path has been winding. After quitting a hectic graphic design job in my 20s, I unintentionally started a business with a few branding jobs that fell into my lap. Initially, I let my business happen to me rather than making intentional choices.

When my son was born, I had steady work but struggled to balance work with parenthood. After years of feeling overwhelmed, I stepped back to focus on parenting. This hiatus was challenging, both personally and professionally. I felt adrift without my professional identity and resentful of my situation (and my husband).

In 2018, when my son was in 5th grade, I realized I needed to get divorced. This was the push I needed to begin working on my business again. By 2019, I set and exceeded a big financial goal, giving me the confidence to end my unhappy marriage and fully recommit to my work.

Now, after 20+ years, my business is finally where I want it to be. Focusing on branding and websites for women-owned service businesses has made me more in-demand than ever. I’m doing work I love with the women I most want to work with—it doesn’t get much better than that.

When was your lightbulb moment?

My lightbulb moment was realizing that I could do entire branding projects in days instead of weeks or months.

I know women are busy and don’t have time for a ton of back and forth with a designer, so I’ve honed a streamlined process that allows me to design an entire brand and website using just two days of a client’s time.

I start every project with an in-depth 90-minute interview that I turn into a comprehensive creative brief. By aligning our vision and making sure we’re on the same page from the jump, I’m able to design an entire brand and website in less than 2 weeks. I only ask that the client show up for a few meetings over 2 days to provide feedback. I handle the rest.

The result? We stay focused on the client’s goals; they love the ease of the process; and they get a beautiful new brand without wasting any extra time (translation: they have more time to focus on their own business and what they do best).

What are your three words of advice?

Community: My friend who’s a coach says that we all need a personal Board of Directors and I couldn’t agree more. Being an entrepreneur is challenging, so a supportive community is crucial. We all need a mix of cheerleaders, truth tellers, creative collaborators, and empathetic listeners to lean on during triumphs and the inevitable setbacks.

Resilience: True resilience for entrepreneurs is about smart risk-taking and learning from failures. It means having the guts to try new things, the wisdom to recognize when things aren’t working, and the drive to keep going anyway. Without this kind of resilience, businesses can get stuck in a rut. The most successful entrepreneurs don’t just survive tough times—they use them to get better and move forward.

Strategy: For years, I avoided setting goals or creating a plan for my business because I feared failure. This hesitation really held me back. I learned that real progress comes from setting clear goals and developing a strategy to achieve them. Without a roadmap, you’re just spinning your wheels.
