Tell us a little something about your business...

For more than two decades, I was an educator—dedicated, passionate, and always pushing for change that would better serve my students. But what I didn’t see, even as it was happening, was how perimenopause was reshaping me. I found myself exhausted in ways that rest didn’t fix, doubting decisions I once made with confidence, and feeling disconnected from the woman who had once thrived in the classroom.

At the time, I didn’t have the language for what I was experiencing. No one was talking about how menopause impacts work, identity, and leadership. It wasn’t until I stepped away from teaching that I began to connect the dots—and I realized something important: it wasn’t just me. Countless women were facing the same struggle, quietly, often thinking they were failing when really the systems around them were failing to support them.

That’s why I created Liberated Menopause Consulting & Coaching. My mission is to transform workplaces into places where women don’t have to choose between their health and their careers. Through visioning with leaders, professional learning for staff, policy development, and ongoing coaching, I help organizations build Menopause Empowered Workplaces that truly support midlife employees.

I also host Transforming 45, a podcast where I hold space for stories of midlife transformation. It’s where we talk honestly about identity, resilience, and what it means to rebuild a life on your own terms.

For me, this work is personal. It’s about rewriting the silence I once lived through, and helping women—and workplaces—step into a future where menopause is met with understanding, respect, and empowerment.

When was your lightbulb moment?

My lightbulb moment came when I finally connected the dots between my struggles in the last years of teaching and the reality of perimenopause. For so long, I thought I was simply tired, overextended, or somehow losing my edge. But when I understood that what I had been experiencing was actually the impact of hormonal shifts, everything changed.

It was both heartbreaking and empowering. Heartbreaking, because I realized how many women are pushed out of careers they love without ever being given the language or support to understand what’s happening. Empowering, because once I saw it clearly, I knew I couldn’t ignore it.

That was the spark: the moment I realized that if workplaces could recognize and support menopause, women could thrive instead of quietly disappearing. It became my mission to make sure no one else had to navigate what I went through in silence. That’s when Liberated Menopause Consulting & Coaching was born.

What are your three words of advice?

Listen — to yourself, your body, and your intuition. So much of midlife transformation begins with paying attention to the whispers we’ve been trained to ignore.

Trust — because learning to trust myself again, after doubt and exhaustion clouded my confidence, was the hardest and most important part of my journey.

Liberate — yourself and others from silence and stigma. For me, liberation means creating spaces where women feel seen, heard, and supported, and where workplaces embrace menopause as part of the human experience.

These three words matter to me because they reflect both my personal journey and the mission of my business: to help individuals and organizations transform how we experience midlife and menopause.
