Tell us a little something about your business...
When I started my company, XL Consulting Group, many of my clients were women who wanted to launch a business. From all the questions they asked I realized that I could help people globally if I answered all the business startup questions in one book. But as I reached out to successful women entrepreneurs I realized that the stories they shared painted the perfect pictures that women could relate to. Every chapter includes real life experiences and wisdom from women all over the world. Women who have read the book keep it on hand as a reference book. When I see Fabulous Fempreneurship in offices, they all have post-it notes marking pages that are important to the reader. Accountants and lawyers give out this startup guide to first time entre- preneurs to help them kickstart their thought processes.
When was your lightbulb moment?
I decided to write Fabulous Fempreneurship because I realized that women felt the entrepreneurship journey was a lonely one and many women didn’t have a network of advisors, mentors or coaches who could guide them on how to launch in a very straight forward step by step way. There is still a glass ceiling for women in business and after a 30 year corporate career, I also felt passionate about giving back to the next generation of business women. Fabulous Fempreneurship is my “gift” to aspiring women entrepreneurs. If I can help more women launch businesses, that will be my legacy.
