Tell us a little something about your business...

What started as a passion project in support of the entrepreneurial spirit has now become an international platform for sharing stories introducing the person behind the logo… “When I started my first company over 25 years ago there was no support for entrepreneurs. A mentor wore a blue suit and red tie, business consulting was in the incubator stage and no-one had ever heard of a coach unless it was through a sports team. Thankfully times are changing.”

When was your lightbulb moment?

After publishing my second book, Breaking Barriers 10 Entrepreneurial Women Share Their Stories, I began public speaking on the topic of mentorship, meeting so many amazing people who were interested in sharing their story.
I decided to create a guest blog series to increase the visibility of each business, encourage collaboration and build connections in each community by sharing a little about the person behind the logo.

Now, we feature international stories from entrepreneurs and enterprise leaders on 5 continents who share a passion for their business. Why? Every entrepreneur remembers the days when they had a lightbulb moment and started in the trenches with a great idea.

What started as a guest blog series has expanded to include:

1) Podcast – In its 7th Season, Business Mentorship; Keepin It Real has over 275 interviews
found on YouTube and your favourite podcast channel
2) Mastermind Self-Study Workshops, Invest in Yourself where we feature international speakers
who share their expertise.
3) Quarterly global on-line networking events with a guest speaker on a topic trending in business, participate in break-out sessions and connect with other business leaders.
4) Annual Digital Magazine
5) Community Awards recognizing those who go above and beyond to support our community.

What are your three words of advice?

There comes a time in life when we need to “pay it forward” in support of the entrepreneurial spirit, business innovation and mentorship. Starting your own business takes what I call the 3-D’s – Drive, Determination and Discipline. With the support of your family and friends you may then include creativity, courage, and resilience. We each need to fill each day with gratitude and thanks, then unapologetically, be proud of our success.
