Nicole was born and raised in Bracebridge, Ontario where she owns two successful businesses to this day. Growing up, Nicole was a very driven, athletic individual that did not let any barriers stand in her way. One of those barriers being Dyslexia which deterred her from attending college/university right out of high school. Instead, Nicole took part in many pageants including Miss Universe Canada. It was through pageantry that Nicole realized she could turn that same passion and drive that she had within her to help others. The beauty industry soon became her main focus. Tell us a little something about your business...

My parents are entrepreneurs, and inspired me to trust my instincts, reach outside my comfort zone and never let my age discourage me.

As a contestant in the Miss Canada Universe Pageant, at only 17 years of age I was the youngest contestant to ever compete. I gained self-esteem and reinforced my belief that beauty comes from within.

Now I own an aesthetics salon and get to prove that to women every day. I am blessed and try to give back as much as I can through sponsorship of various organizations and volunteering real-time hours to charitable fundraisers.

“If you found the book of your life, would you read it to the end?”

Every day I ask myself that question, and I answer ‘no’. Life is an adventure to be lived with anticipation and hope, and I want to shape my destiny, not know it in advance. That is my vision. I was awarded many business awards in my local area – Muskoka, crowned Miss Muskoka and won various athletic awards.  My competitive drive at a young age has always moved me forward.

Starting Muskoka Aesthetics at the age of 20 is still growing each year not only with business but with staff and clients. Growing it into a 6 figure business in its first year we are now on our way to 600K. Heading into our 6th year of business at 26 I never thought this could be my reality.

January of 2019 Miskoka Beauty was founded. Yes I started another business why not right?! I found Canada was missing a distributor for luxury lash extensions and accessories. So why not start one. We kicked off our launch with the ESI Spa show ( largest spa show in Canada ) to display and retail our line. Having sales above my expectations I knew we were onto something. Now selling all over the world we are helping women entrepreneurs grow their business. Teaching the ropes to owning your business and your brand as your own beauty ambassador. Offering education and mentoring is something I believe in. Miskoka Beauty educators are trained to excel our students in their lash careers. Our educators are helping the longevity of the industry by teaching from experience as well as hacks that can add new lash artist. Education is never waisted and mentoring is something meaningful.

Growing up I was not the smartest child, struggling with reading and writing failing test after test I didn’t want this to discourage me from my goals in life. Having an IEP and being dyslexic has had its challenges. I believe there is no such thing as a disability unless you allow it to be. I have found myself in more ways then one and I continue to tell my story.

February 9th 2020 we launched Beauty Behind The Brand Podcast. This is a platform where we can share the real behind the scenes of the entrepreneur life. I interview all types of industry founders and show the unfiltered truth of business. You can find our audio on all podcast platforms and video recording of me personally interviewing the founders on zoom calls. Published on YouTube and IGTV.

Never stop believing in yourself and let your dreams become your reality.

When was your lightbulb moment?

Why not create it

What are your three words of advice?

Reality – make your dreams your reality, why just dream about it.

WHY – figure out your Why and the rest will follow.

Communication – communicating with anyone in business is so important, with your team, buyers, educators, the public and the list goes on. Really share your message.

Three words of advice...

Why , Mission , Purpose
