From Striving to Thriving, Kristi Stangeland

Tell us a little something about your business...

Over twenty years ago I left the my corporate CFO position behind and launched a series of small businesses. With each entrepreneurial success, I found myself taking stock of the lessons learned, both professionally and personally. It soon became clear that my business success was tied to my personal wellness, her self-awareness and the ability to find balance in her life.

I founded My ParaVita to share my knowledge, insights and serve more women in a deeper way. I help busy women create a sense of calm, enjoyment and adventure in their lives with meditation, retreats and feng shui. I thrilled to further share with my soon to be released book: Embrace Each Day with Peace and Calm, A Simple Guit to Meditation for Busy Women.

When was your lightbulb moment?

I meditate and journal for at least 60 minutes each day. In my younger days, I would have felt this was a colossal waste of time. Now I believe that it helps me flow. Problems are solved much faster, I am much more productive and my creative juices are on super-drive! I have so many more “Aha!” moments now and the picture of what I was meant to do with my life has never been more vibrant and clear.

What are your three words of advice?

Enjoy the Silence: I’ve seen the wonders achieved with a silent meditation both for myself and others. It’s a way to “train” the brain to let go of worry. One is able to start responding to situations and not reacting, having more aha moments and finding more focus during the day. It’s easy to listen to a guided meditation and feel like you’ve checked off the box but the true benefits will manifest in silence.
