Tell us a little something about your business...
“Love and Freedom” gives women an answer to the question they have been searching for for years: “Why do I keep getting entangled with narcissistic men?” Most women think if they can just fix, change, control, manipulate their man, and the situation, things would be perfect. They would go back to the beginning of the relationship where they lived on Fantasy Island with the man of their dreams.
Herein is where the problem lies. Fantasy Island is a temporary dwelling place of magical thinking. You go there because you refuse to deal with reality.
And what is reality? There is no going back to the beginning in these kinds of relationship. The variables involved are functioning on two different operating systems, and neither one of them are lining up with God’s: L+F or love+freedom.
One variable is your man. And the other variable is you.
With all the figuring, inverting, and manipulation of numbers, and variables, you’ve forgotten the common denominator: you. In order to get out of this toxic dance cycle with narcissistic men, you need to understand your own vicious cycle. Travel back in time to the garden of Eden. Open your mind to the first family’s love story garden. But don’t get infected by the venom of the serpent along the way.
When was your lightbulb moment?
My lightbulb moment was when my ex-husband decided that he was leaving our marriage and my Energizer bunny personality of perfectionism had done all that it could physically do to save our marriage. I scheduled a therapy appointment. My therapist suggested a 3-month in-house separation. I call it a “be still and know” moment. I was able to weed out my brokenness, my ex-husband’s brokenness, and the brokenness of the relationship in general. This led to a “come to Jesus” moment. Instead of trying to save our marriage, I needed to take the necessary steps to save myself.
What are your three words of advice?
Reveal. Feel. Heal.
Reveal your family’s love story by digging deep down into the roots of your garden, and owning the truth.
Feel the emotions, grief, pain, and feelings that go along with this revelation.
Heal your mind, body, and SOUL so you can reclaim your power, SOUL, & identity.
