I became a luxury home builder almost by chance. I had renovated a couple of homes, when someone told me that I what I was doing was so unique that required to seen and heard of. As I got more and more involved in building, I was certain that I had made a mistake… I was a woman in a male’s dominated industry. I did not have the experience nor the gender to back me up. I got disrespected, rejected and disregarded and each time my husband told me to get up and do it again. And hence I did! I elected to ensure that I would get that “respect” from every person, being it male or female. I began to unveil my true colors, I became innovative in my building techniques, I became an outside the box thinker and always pursued that new product or fixture that would make people take notice. I wanted to guarantee I would make a big mark where women generally do not – construction.
