Tell us a little something about your business...

This little brown paper is filled with fun facts, trivia, horoscopes and so much more. I found my calling. I love designing, desk top publishing, meeting new people and continuing with my values of Compassion, Kindness and Integrity. I’m not a salesperson. I’m a person who will work alongside of you and your small or medium size business to help create the perfect ad for your business. I will ensure the ad suites your business needs. Your ad is exclusive. Each edition is limited to one advertiser per business sector. You knock out your competition. Your ad will be placed on the front or on the back of the paper – never getting lost in the middle. Coffee News is weekly – with distribution sites at over 190 locations and growing each day with hundreds of readers each week.

When was your lightbulb moment?

I had a dream, a plan of how my life would turn out. I followed, what I called the 20/30 plan. I was 20 years old, just starting to work full time, I knew with 30 year’s service, the plan to was retire at age 50. So, guess what, life got in the way – who know, divorce, moving to a new city, kids, parents, and a tragic event – life changed in a hurry and here I am, believe it or not, 30 years later. This past summer I realized, and it hit me hard that I’m not going to retire in May 2020, after 30 years of social service work in senior care. I discovered Coffee News – that little brown paper that you use to see everywhere else but not in Brantford, Brant County.

What are your three words of advice?

Compassionate: You can’t be compassionate towards others until you are compassionate with yourself first. Praise yourself for your own successes, no matter how small they may be, forgive yourself for mistakes, hey we all make mistakes. Focus on your strengths and positive qualities.
Kindness: Is when someone helps you no matter what it is. Offer a kind smile to a stranger, open a door, just because, just sitting with someone who is alone. You never know what someone is going through on the inside. A simple small kind gesture can make a world of difference.
Integrity: This is my fundamental value that I take very seriously. Whether its my personal or business life, my trust, honestly and ethics are there every day, you can count on me.
