I’m only 36 years old. However I feel like I am wise beyond my years…. I have been through an emotionally abusive 17 year relationship/marriage, with three young girls and a closet alcoholic ex husband. I’ve managed to leave the relationship, put in the hard work and effort. and come out on top. I am a successful Realtor, Mother and Independent Woman. Each day I hustle for my three girls. Emma (9) and twins Evelyn and Jocelyn (6). I want them to know they have choice. They can choose their future. They can decide!

Real Estate Entrepreneur – Amy Henderson

Tell us a little something about your business...

I am a Sales Representative with The Munir Group – Century 21 Professional Group. I have a passion for real estate and empowering women through the hard times in life. I have worked with various ladies throughout my career that have hit hard times. Whether its seperation, divorce, a job loss, finacnial struggles. I have assisted these women through the decision making of selling or purchasing a place they call home or once did. Its an emotional rollercoaster, and with my expertise, and past experiences I can help guide them through the emotions and help assist them by making confident strong decisions. They can move onto their next steps in life, and know they were supported and cared for.

When was your lightbulb moment?

After going through a rough 2 years of divorce and being independent from my ex husband, who still battles with alcoholism, I was struggling to find where I belonged in life again. I was trying to find my story, my way in life. I was on vacation in Los Cabos, Mexico, on a lounger, overlooking the ocean, reading a book called Girl Code by Cara Alwill Leyba. Its a book about female entreprenuers and how we need to lift oursleves up and network together, instead of against each other. A line in the book said something to the fact of… “stop being the victim”. For some reason, that day… It reasonated with me, and I’ve forged foreward since. I learned to take my past experiences and share and provide hope for others.

What are your three words of advice?

We need to live, experience the tough times, reflect on them and grow beyond that. Growth always comes from something hard. Thirdly, “Passion” Find something thats give you the passion to wake each morning, to become better, to inspire others, You are given one life, Make it a passionate one!
