When was your lightbulb moment?
My light bulb moment occurred when I was sixteen, right before my first hockey game. At the last minute, my father had to take my younger brother to his game, leaving us with only his new standard truck. I turned to my mom and suggested we drive to the arena together. When she asked if I could handle a standard, I confidently declared, “For sure! Let’s be trailblazers!”
With a mix of doubt and excitement, she agreed. We hopped in, and despite my initial inexperience, I quickly got the hang of driving. By the time we arrived, I was grinning, knowing that this spontaneous decision had led me to not only drive but also to play the game I loved.
That day taught me that life is about embracing challenges and believing in oneself. Fast forward 48 years, and I find myself once again in a truck, ready to gear up for a new adventure—launching SheIS Sports Network. I’m driven by the same belief: that we can create meaningful change and inspire others to pursue their passions.
What are your three words of advice?
Belief: You must have unwavering faith in your idea, knowing that failure is part of the journey and that not everyone will agree with you. Stay true to your convictions and keep pushing forward.
Worthy: As women, it can be challenging to embrace our worthiness of success, love, and recognition.
Belonging: Recognize that you deserve a seat at the table—not just because you are a woman, but because you bring powerful ideas and solutions.
