Tasneem Virani

I was born in Kenya and came to an English Boarding School at the age of 12, got married at 19 to an extended family with some strong traditions, have 2 children who are very different, witnessed my parents who died young from cancer and multi in-fact dementia, moved countries, went from riches to rags twice. In all these circumstances there was pain but there was tremendous growth and learning as I developed emotional resilience and am passionate about developing others to maximise their potential.  Visit Tasneem at https://clariscoaching.com/

Tasneem Virani, Human Touch Leadership

Tell us a little something about your business...

I have always been drawn to human dynamics as a child and witnessed mayhems in our family business, particularly around how people thought, what they felt and how they communicated. I was drawn to this throughout when I joined my husband’s family business, and when I launched my first business , Floresque, providing flowers with a customer centric approach. For decades, I have provided cutting-edge methods in the areas of leadership development, change management, organisational coaching, facilitation, mediation, and career management with a customer – centric approach, observing and learning about human behaviour and ways to bring better understanidng and collaboration amongst people.

In 2020 the global pandemic has affected every single person, including me as most of my clients were in the hospitality business. I decided then to take all my learning and passion around a term called the Human Touch which was in my head for 20 years. I have always felt that if one treated people in the best way, they would have the best outcomes. This convinced me more than ever before it was time to pivot and demonstrate how the world needs a new type of leadership, one that can maximise human potential through empathy and compassion. In order to do this, we need to maximise the potential of the human brain through the touch. An emotive word that shifts the energy through emotional intelligence.

This is the time when senior leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals need to adopt a growth mindset, be more agile and resilient, and lead with compassion and empathy.

We now need to collaborate and work with people across cultures and generations to grow together in a pluralistic world as we have the technology now to bring us closer together.

Human Touch Leadership, my new book, contains lessons from 27 different types of leaders, industries and generations. I guided them through a set of questions related to Human Touch Leadership, and their responses were illuminating.

I’m passionate about working with those who are open to self-development, want to be challenged and want to make a real difference by increasing their self-awareness and social awareness while learning to maximise their human and leadership potential.

The way I do this is by formulating and implementing a bespoke framework from the ground up, which I call the Human Touch Programme. Using the principles of emotional intelligence and Conversational Intelligence®, coupled with a unique insight into how the human brain works, I help you engage better with your clients and teams, implementing a methodology to maximise your potential, boost your reputation, build your client base, select, grow and retain your team, and enjoy your work.

From multinational conglomerates to family-run enterprises, I have coached leaders and businesses all over the world in every imaginable sector, using proven methods from my extensive training in human resources, mediation, psychology, emotional intelligence and Conversational Intelligence®.

I leverage 20 years of experience in which I have transformed 5000 people worldwide. To add to this, I’m a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Professional Development (CIPD) and the National Council of Psychotherapists (NCP), an accredited Birkman Coach, a practitioner in Conversational Intelligence® with WBECs, a practitioner in Emotional Intelligence with Six Seconds, and a certified online and off line Mediator with ADR ODR International and hold a Bachelors in Psychology and a Masters in Performance Management.

When was your lightbulb moment?

The pandemic spoke to everyone in the world and everyone was experiencing some form of change including me. It was a time to reflect and consolidate and rebuild my purpose. Empathy, Compassion, Emotions, Resilience, Agility all spoke to me and this in when I decided to write my book. Human Beings have the capacity to evolve and change and needed to have the tools.

What are your three words of advice?
