Tell us a little something about your business...

The Balanced Wellness Centre is an employee engagement and data analysis firm with a built-in wellness centre. This enables us to address the issues we see trending for business owners and their employees and provide specific resources to achieve success personally and professionally.

Our unique process allows us to vet, monitor and regulate our content and Contributors, making us the safest bet for the highest potential return on investment.

Our mission is simple: provide employees access to engaging content to develop their well-being personally and professionally while reporting these trends to employers with resources on what to do about them, without compromising their team’s privacy

When was your lightbulb moment?

Wanting to do something in the employee engagement/ health & wellness space had been brewing for years. My favourite part of working in a team was finding those moments of seeing and celebrating the individual within the group.
Ultimately though, it was the sudden and untimely passing of my mother in law that brought this latent passion to the fore. I love moments of humans being human and so often we shield that rather than celebrate it, especially in the workplace. I strongly believe that when people can be who they are and feel what they need to feel in the workplace it creates an incredible sense of community and empathy, so I sought to create an organization that could responsibly provide support support for this to be encouraged within the workplace.

What are your three words of advice?

Believe Your Friends
This may seem a bit strange but this is advice I remind myself of often.
You know all those times when your friends, colleagues, clients, etc gave you compliments, and you appreciated them but blew them off because you either felt you didn’t deserve them or you were being humble?
Screw that.
Compliments are proof of awesomeness. We can get down on ourselves and find all sorts of reasons to tear ourselves down. But that’s not what friends do. So when someone pays you a compliment, recognizes something you’ve done, celebrates you for your achievements, skills or insight- listen, take it in, and BELIEVE IT.

Three words of advice...

Permission, Patience, Grace
