Confident Teen Teacher, Kristi Simons

Tell us a little something about your business...

My business TEACH with LOVE was born in the same 2 years as the birth of my two children. I have always felt a deep love for the work that I do as a teacher, and in this new chapter of my life, I found an even deeper love for the lessons I wanted to be teaching. As a certified teacher, holistic health coach, and energy healer, I am inspired more and more each and every day to empower and guide adolescents through the complexities of their teen years. Helping them build CONFIDENCE, set and achieve goals, and develop essential life skills. My approach is holistic, tailoring my work to each students individual and unique needs, including: emotional well-being, academics, exploring aspirations, and overcoming challenges, to name a few.
My mission and vision are to TEACH with LOVE and to make sure that my students unlock their full potential and thrive in all areas of their lives -because their potential is limitless!

When was your lightbulb moment?

After the birth of my son in 2020, I embarked on the imperfect journey of creating positive changes in my life. These changes, aimed at a better life, were accompanied by numerous challenges. I began shedding so many layers of my past that were no longer serving me. Habits that I had formed early in my teens years, such as dependencies to drugs and alcohol, due to a lack of self-respect and self-worth I had for myself. Reflecting on the past, it is evident that the breakdowns I encountered were essential in revealing my breakthroughs. My journey not only led me to this work, it also helped me to achieve a life of sobriety, something I will always be incredibly proud of and grateful for. These breakthroughs continue to guide me on the path towards living in alignment with my soul’s true desires and inspiring others to do the same.

What are your three words of advice?

Be Brave, Trust Yourself, and Take Action. These words have been my anchor and have kept me going one step at a time on my own journey to cultivating my Confidence and teaching other soul’s, especially teens, to do the same. Being confident is knowing that you are capable of overcoming challenges to reach your potential. Believing that your potential is limitless is one piece of the equation. The other important piece is being brave and trusting yourself enough to take action even when it challenges you. It’s knowing that if you fail, this is just as valuable an outcome as succeeding. I believe both are learning opportunities. One teaches us what works… and the other teaches us to show up again, to face our fears, to pivot, to correct course, to stand proudly and say: This time I failed, AND I tried again. CONFIDENCE is deeply rooted in the lessons we choose to learn. I also believe, confidence is found in the lessons of the road less traveled.
