Tell us a little something about your business...

Officially, my journey to become a journalist began in 2013 when I decided to give up everything and go back to school for a fourth time!! Crazy – yes! Risky – even more so! But, always in the back of my mind I knew I was born to do this. My dream of becoming a radio or television host had been nagging at me to the point where I could not turn my back on it any longer. And, my attitude and passion about hosting has not waivered for a second since making the choice. I have no regrets, but it’s not to say I wasn’t terrified to take a leap faith – I was.

When was your lightbulb moment?

I was so scared of failure. It took me until I was 36 years old to get over my fear of failure, even though I knew I was born to do this?! This isn’t to say I haven’t experienced doubt either. I wouldn’t be human if I hadn’t doubted myself along the way. I’ve asked myself many times, what if you’re wrong? What if you’re not good enough? What if they don’t like you? As far as I see it, we are all uneasy of the unknown. And, truth be told, we don’t have any control over the outcome of choices like this. But, I did it, and I am slowly becoming what I was born to do.

What are your three words of advice?

Believe it, know it, and never let anything or anyone get in the way of it. You are your biggest advocate. Only you can create the opportunities to get where you need to go.
